From For the Love of a Wolf: Stats on fatal attacks by wolfdogs vs "standard" breeds of dogs.
The following stats were compiled using the # of reported attacks per breed vs total population of breed for a 15 year period (1979-1994) and is shown as a yearly average."

  1. Pitbull terriers - 0.43 percent
  2. Siberian Huskys - 0.0012 percent
  3. Alaskan Malamutes - 0.0007 percent
  4. German Shepherds - 0.0005 percent
  5. Rottweilers - 0.0003 percent
  6. Wolfdogs - 0.00025 percent (considerably less than the top offender )

" The above stats were compiled using HSUS wolfdog population estimates of 300,000 wolfdogs. (actual estimations exceed 2.5 million) All other breeds were compiled from AKC population estimates for registered & unregistered animals. Numbers of fatalities are from CDC reported fatalities for the 15 year period. An average population density % was used for wolfdogs based on AKC population changes for all breeds."
